During the conference #SeeBloggers in Łódź, Prof. Piotr H. Skarżyński, MD, PhD, MSc, led a workshop entitled ‘Trapped by sound: how the trend for wearing headphones all the time threatens our health and relationships’.
During the meeting, the Professor highlighted the growing threat to hearing health posed by excessive headphone use, particularly among younger generations. The workshop covered the effects of prolonged noise exposure, the importance of hearing care and the impact of isolation from one’s surroundings on social relationships. Professor Skarżyński offered practical advice on using audio devices safely and encouraged a mindful approach to technology in everyday life. The event attracted considerable interest and sparked a lively discussion about how modern habits affect our health and quality of life.
