On 16 May 2025, Prof. Piotr Skarżyński, MD, PhD, MSc, took part in the 24th Paediatric Otolaryngology Days in Łódź.
The Professor delivered a lecture entitled ‘Lingual frenuloplasty — facts and myths’, presenting current knowledge and practical recommendations on the surgical treatment of ankyloglossia in children and adolescents. He also joined the interdisciplinary discussion ‘Ankyloglossia — perspectives of a speech therapist, dentist and paediatric otolaryngologist’ alongside Joanna Surlejewska-Cieślik, MSc. The meeting was moderated by Józef Mierzwiński, MD, PhD, Associate Professor at Nicolaus Copernicus University.
The conference brought together distinguished paediatric otolaryngologists, phoniatricians, audiologists, speech therapists and representatives of related specialties. Its multidisciplinary format enabled participants to expand their knowledge of head and neck surgery, modern diagnosis of nasal and sinus diseases, and the latest methods of treating hearing disorders in children.
