Prof. Piotr H. Skarżyński was appointed to two committees of the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery for the 2021–2022 term: the Implantable Hearing Devices Committee and the Otology & Neurotology Education Committee. Selected from many candidates, his appointment reflects the international specialist community’s recognition of his professional work.
Prof. Piotr H. Skarżyński is the only Polish member participating in the committees’ work. He has been active within AAO-HNS for many years. He served on the Hearing Committee in 2018–2019 and has been a member of the International Advisory Board (IAB) since 2019. He is also involved in the Guests of Honor initiative and the AAO-HNSF 2021 Annual Meeting & OTO Experience. Poland and the Society of Polish Otorhinolaryngologists, Phoniatricians and Audiologists, represented by the Professor, were selected as the meeting’s guest of honour. Prof. Piotr H. Skarżyński was also appointed a Goodwill Ambassador representing Poland at the event. His long-standing cooperation with the Academy has additionally resulted in numerous publications, conference presentations and other scientific activities.
