News

The 13th European Symposium Pediatric Cochlear Implant, ESPCI 2017, took place in Lisbon, Portugal, on 25–28 May 2017. Prof. Piotr H. Skarżyński, MD, PhD, MSc, actively participated.

His scientific contribution and involvement are reflected in the following activities:

  • chairing 2 scientific sessions: Clinical Issues and Instructional Courses;
  • participating in 2 round tables, ‘Electrode design and drug delivery’ and ‘Cochlear implantation in special cases’, and moderating the round table ‘Complications and failures’;
  • presenting 6 posters, 2 of them designated ‘Best selected’.

ESPCI congresses have a 21-year history. The first was held in Nottingham, United Kingdom, in 1992. Hosting an ESPCI congress is a major distinction and recognition of the achievements of the centre selected by vote. In 2009, Warsaw hosted the congress for the first time in Central and Eastern Europe.
