International Window Approach Workshops on round-window surgery have been held successfully in Kajetany since 2007. The 29th edition took place on 29–30 May 2017.
The scientific programme included invited lectures and practical training through demonstration operations.
Prof. Piotr H. Skarżyński, MD, PhD, MSc, assisted during live demonstration surgery and delivered several presentations. Topics included techniques preserving residual hearing (‘Surgical Technique – Structure and Hearing Preservation’), steroid use in partial deafness (‘Use of Steroids in PDT Cases’), and selecting appropriate electrodes using audiological and radiological assessment (‘Electrode Selection based on Audiological and Radiological findings’).
