‘Medicine is the adventure of a lifetime’ — Prof. Piotr H. Skarżyński for the Academy of Management and Development

News

‘Medicine, as the late Prof. Religa said, is the adventure of a lifetime. The studies are long and difficult, but teach us many different things. If someone wants contact with people, wants not only to help but to see satisfaction on the faces of a treated child’s parents, these are the studies for them,’ says Prof. Piotr Skarżyński, MD, PhD, in a short lecture for the new educational platform Akademia Zarządzania i Rozwoju.

Piotr H. Skarżyński, a management graduate of the University of Warsaw and a graduate of the Medical University of Warsaw’s Faculty of Medicine, where he obtained his doctorate and subsequently his habilitation, emphasises that medical studies naturally require hard work and extensive learning. ‘An interest in certain things, from nature to chemistry and different experiments, helps, but these are not the only people suited to studying medicine,’ he notes.
